On Friday afternoon (mountain time), with three Rocky peaks, crisp mountain air and crystalline snowflakes by the million as witnesses, I knelt in front of Dina and said many things which I do not remember for reasons of nervousness, but which she says were at least competent, and then I asked Dina to marry me.
She said Yes!
The next day we hiked up one of the witness peaks and met a herd of elk. They understood us perfectly, and silently wished goodness upon us. Good wishes have been streaming in from the four directions and the nine seas ever since, and we have not stopped smiling.
We stand transfixed in this world where beauty surrounds us, we stand and walk, we dream and make, we, together.
